What Does "Percent Favorable" Mean?

We use percent favorable to give you an idea of what percentage of students/parents/staff responded favorably to a Pulse and its questions and associated dimensions. This gives you an indication of whether their answers are mostly positive or mostly negative.

Let's explore what this means...

Percent Favorable - Overall:

Percent of favorable responses for all questions. Calculated by counting all favorable answer choices* and dividing by the total number of answer choices in the Pulse.

Example: 30 favorable answer choices / 40 answer choices = 75% favorable

Percent Favorable - By Dimension:

Percent of favorable responses for questions aligned to a Dimension. Calculated by counting all favorable answer choices for the aligned question(s) and dividing by the total number of answers choices assessing that dimension.

Example: 60 favorable answer choices / 240 answer choices = 25% favorable

Percent Favorable - By Question:
