Complete a Non Public Service Plan (NPSP) Amendment

This lesson is intended to serve as a guide to creating a Non Public Service Plan Amendment/Addendum for a student who has an eligible Non Public Service Plan.

1.  Click on Special Services

2. Click on IEP Details.

Click Add Amendment within the Select Action drop down menu from the most recent Service Plan or Service Plan Amendment as appropriate.

Input Amendment Rationale

1.  In the provided text box, input the rationale for creating the NPSP amendment.

2.  Enter the date of Consultation of Parent(s)/Guardian(s).  Note:  This date should be before or the same date as the Notice for the Amendment.

3.  Begin typing and select from the drop down the individual who consulted with the Parent(s)/Guardian(s).

4.  Click the "Next" or "Save" button to save the rationale and proceed to the next step.

IEP Wizard Amendment Meeting Question

1. Indicate whether the NPSP Amendment will be created at a meeting.

2. Click the "Save" or "Next" button to save your work and proceed to the next step.

Expand or collapse content Add NPSP Amendment Purpose(s)

1.  Select the NPSP Amendment Purpose(s).

2.  Select the Host Site.

3.  Enter the Amendment Date.

4.  Select Next to continue.

1. Ensure the parent/guardian is correct.

2. Add the IEP Team Member by typing their name and selecting from the dropdown and add their title.

NOTE: You may also need to enter the NonPublic School Representative.

You are now ready to complete the rest of the Non Public Service Plan Amendment.

The  Amendment Purpose section controls which pages of the NPSP can be accessed within the amendment.

Users will only be able to make changes to sections with check boxes next to them.

Expand or collapse content Make any Additions/Edits to the Appropriate Sections of the NPSP Amendment

Make any changes to the Non Public Service Plan as appropriate and agreed upon by the district and parent(s)/guardian(s).

REMINDER:  Users will only be able to make changes to sections with check boxes next to them as the Amendment Purpose section controls which pages of the NPSP can be accessed within the amendment.

If the needed section is NOT available you will need to either:  

1.  Go back to the Amendment purpose page and select the additional purpose.

2.  Delete your Amendment and begin again being sure to select the appropriate Amendment purpose.

Expand or collapse content Make any Changes to the NPSP Amendment Follow Up Details Page

1.  Make any changes to the Follow up Details Page. NOTE:  In most cases no editing would be needed.

2.  Select Next.

1. Add any Additional Comments if needed.

2. Select Next.

1.  Verify the district the services will be provided in.

2. Select Next.

Expand or collapse content Preview/Publish NPSP Amendment

1.  Preview the changes made and address any items in yellow or red.

2. Select to Preview the NPSP Amendment PDF.

3. View the downloaded NPSP Amendment PDF.

4. To publish, select the Checkbox.

1. Select Publish to publish the NPSP Amendment.

2. Select Close to indicate that the NPSP Amendment was not published due to a specific reason.

1.  Select the method the Parent(s)/Guardian(s) were informed using the Dropdown.

2.  Select Yes to publish.

3.  Select Publish to complete the process.
