The parental consent date on the Student Status Page (current) no longer will get deleted (or cleared out) after an Initial IEP has been published. NOTE: The MSDS side is unaffected.
The following columns are available within the NEW Category of Initial IEP
- Awaiting Consent (Data will only display in this column WHILE the IEP team is Awaiting Consent. Once it is published, data will no longer display.
- Awaiting Consent Date
- Consent for Initial Provision of Program and Services (Data will change if the Initial IEP is at first Awaiting Consent and then moves to either Parent Refused, Consented, etc.)
- Date Notice provided ot parent(s)/guardian(s)
- Initial Written Consent for Provision of services
- Method
- Method of Attempt Date(s)
- Reasonable attempts were made to contact the Parent(s)/Guardian(s)
- Refusal Date for Parent(s)/Guardian(s) Initial
NOTE: In order see and use the NEW Custom Reporting Data you will need to go to Manage Custom Reporting Data and Share out the new Category with role(s)/user(s) as appropriate.
This new field will automatically be displayed on Students Demographics Current and Student Demographics MSDS IF you have the permission set to yes of: Focus Student Resident/Operating District Modificaiton Access.
The field value will default to No for all students.
The following validation checks have been added per MSDS to ensure Yes is selected/saved as appropriate.
- The student must have a current disability (Error Message: Cannot select 'Yes' unless Primary Disability is set as of the Reporting Date.)
- The student must have a Plan type of IEP (code 2). (Error Message: Plan Type must be IEP when Significant Cognitive Disability is 'Yes'.)
- The Instructional Setting cannot be 11. (Error Message: ED SETTING cannot be '11' when Significant Cognitive Disability is 'Yes')
NOTE: If Instructional Setting is set to Automatically Calculated a reminder message will be displayed upon saving to remind the User to ensure they do not have an LRE (Instructional Setting) of 11 with the automatic calculation.
If any of the above validations/checks is not met, an error message will display stating the reason why Yes could not be selected.
NOTE: You will need to verify that their GE FTE is .5 or less.

1. Search/locate the new column of Significant Cognitive Disability.
2. Select the key icon to share out the new field.
Share out as appropriate for use in Custom Reports.
Significant Cognitive Disability Column Added to All Extracts (September 25, 2025)
All of the extracts (including Skyward Extract Report, MSDS Partial, SE Extract (and tab delimited), SE Nightly (based on current), SE Extract (based on MSDS), Skyward Extract (based on current) and Skyward Extract (based on msds) have the new column added.
Note: They system will show either yes or no based on what it within the Student Demographic Page for the field: Significant Cognitive Disability.
